Going Vegan: A Dramatic Change In Body And Mood

Going Vegan | Vegan Restaurant FinderYou will experience a dramatic change both physically and mentally when going vegan. These changes include weight loss, healthier digestion, and more energy. While everyone reacts differently to changes in diet, many vegans report similar outcomes.

Weight loss is one of the biggest and most noticeable changes. On average, people switching to veganism initially lose between 10-15 pounds. However, this only happens when vegan eating is done correctly. There is plenty of vegan junk food out there that will negate any weight loss. Incorporating fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole grains into the diet is what helps vegans shed the pounds. Since this is a consistent change, there is no yo-yo effect of weight loss and gain associated with temporary dieting.

Digestion also dramatically improves. Eating more fiber naturally aides in digestion. With more fruits and vegetables, most people have a much easier time in the bathroom.

Energy levels are also usually impacted. This is in part due to the elimination of some unhealthy sugar products. Candy like fruit chews is made out of gelatin, which is animal derived. The milk chocolate used in most candy bars is also not vegan friendly. When this sugar is cut out of our diet, there are no longer any energy crashes or extreme insulin spikes and drops. For most people this results in more consistent energy levels.

While some people struggle with veganism, most feel like it was a natural transition. It is as if our bodies were waiting for such a change to happen. Enjoy these and other vegan health benefits!
